Job Description:

As part of the Shared Services Accounting & Reporting team, the senior accountant is responsible for performing the monthly accounting close for assigned company codes, preparing associated journal entries and financial statements, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls and financial reporting, and driving continuous process improvement. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the accounting is timely, complete, accurate, and in compliance with US GAAP and/or internal HDNA financial reporting requirements.

General Accounting activities include but are not limited to:
Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
Prepare and submit monthly and year-end financial reports
Reconcile monthly statements and annual budgets submitted by divisions
Perform monthly analysis of balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of accruals
Participate in systems upgrades and testing new processes & procedures
Collateral Material Inventory and Fixed Asset accounting
Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of the audit team
Other activities and ad hoc projects as assigned

Consolidation and Reporting activities include but are not limited to:
Consolidate operating results for all HDNA divisions
Pension & 401K Plan analysis and associated reporting
Government and Tax reporting
Assistance with financial and tax audits
Provide guidance to divisional finance teams to resolve reporting and/or accounting issues
Ad hoc projects as required

Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting (MBA and/or CPA is a plus)
3 - 7 years of relevant experience (Accounting, Auditing, Consolidations/Reporting, Tax)
Public Accounting experience preferred but not required
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.
Broad knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plu
Knowledge of SAP, Oracle HFM, Cognos Controller is preferred
Strong analytical skills with a focus on details and accuracy are needed to synthesize large quantities of data, identify trends and translate them into insight for management.
Maintain flexibility in a fast paced environment and continuously evolve to meet changing business needs.
A quick learner with a strong professional curiosity and exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Ability to partner with colleagues in finance and other functions to meet business objectives.
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment and display solid organizational, time management and project management skills.
Self-starter and motivator with the ability to remain focused and work with limited supervision, perform well under pressure, manages multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
