SUMMARY: The Vice President of Forest Products Business is responsible for growing LBM Advantage’s Forest Products business, through developing vendors’ relationships, programs to support increased member penetration / share of member business and the addition of new name members. The VP is also responsible for the development and execution of supplier programs that contribute to the financial success of both the membership and LBM Advantage and position LBM Advantage as an industry leader in the forest products business. As part of the Executive Management Team the VP contributes to the development of short and long term strategic and tactical plans to position the business to meet and exceed operating plans and achieve long term growth goals. The VP develops, gains approval for, and executes plans and policies for his/her organization

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Controls the direction of the Forest Products Division
Targets and initiates business partnerships with suppliers
Drives the culture of the Forest Products Division
Oversees employment and ensures sufficient staff and the right people
Responsible for day-to-day decisions
Identifies business risks and ensures proper strategies are in place
Stays in close contact with members to ensure their needs are being meet
Drives profitability of the Division to maximize return to the members
Attends board meetings and other presentations

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Held senior management position (s) within the Forest products industry with P&L responsibility
Minimum ten years’ experience in the industry required
Strong analytical skills
Strong inventory management skills
Strong communication skills; oral and written
Operates at highest level of Integrity – highest ethics and honesty must be exhibited with employees, members, senior staff, the board, and the vendor community
Leadership—inspires and motivates others to perform well. Leads the department by example and empowers employees to be successful.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or related area.
Master's Degree preferred
Demonstrated formal business management training
