Job Description
Position title: Customer Service / Production Planner
Reports to: Customer Service / Planning Supervisor
Dept: Operations Management
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
Customer Service
1. Oversee key customer accounts and provide communication on order status, net terms and
Collections. For some customers communication may occur daily or more frequently.
2. Conduct contract review to include verification of net terms, pricing, lead times, PM Adders and part revisions. Then enter into SAP ERP system.
3. Acknowledge customer orders and update advance ship notice (ASN) capability per purchase order.
4. Generate and review customer open order report weekly and close out orders with short quantities.
5. Work with Customers/Finance to clear invoice holds as required.
6. Work with NPI team on new products and processes.
7. Release customer orders daily for shipment.
8. Participate in cross:functional teams to address customer service issues.
9. Work closely with Shipping/Receiving to ensure materials are received and shipped in a timely manner
10. Work with Sales Engineering to better understand Customer requirements and expectations going forward
11. Track customer orders, plans and forecasts and provide updates to Management
Planning
1. Review dispatch list daily, identify reschedules and alert master scheduler in a timely manner.
2. Participate in daily production meeting.
3. Follow up on action items resulting from daily production meeting.
4. Enter new requirements into Molding schedule.
5. Schedule jobs in SAP ERP system and point to the correct work center.
6. Confirm MRP suggested raw material demand value is in line with actual needs.
7. Enter POs for zero value toll plated items and outside processing. Work with suppliers to determine delivery dates.
8. Generate OSP purchase orders, cleanup OSP POs monthly and update scrap report.
9. Work closely with internal Interplex teams to resolve conflicts regarding production line requirements
Education /Skills /Qualifications:
1. Bachelors Degree or Associates.
2. 3 to 5 years of Customer Service and Production Planning experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Automotive Industry experience is a big plus
3. Supply chain certifications preferred. Ex: APICS or CSCP
4. Ability to elicit cooperation from team members and other departments.
5. Experience working in a team oriented, collaborative environment.
6. Capable of adapting and effectively responding to rapid changes in a fast paced environment.
7. Analytical with demonstrated problem solving skills.
8. Effective listening and communication skills.
9. Quality conscious and attentive to detail.
10. Self:starter with effective time management skills.
11. Sound administrative and record keeping skills.
12. Intermediate to advanced computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
